Her-Story
Virtually all records of HER-Story are recorded in stone and must be visited in person to “hear” the stories of the Herstoric era.
A big part of my awakening journey involved pilgrimages of REMEMBERING to sacred pre-His-storic sites–many of them were stones and stone monuments. Stones hold energy and memories of the past, and radiate their stored memories, if you listen. Here I share about some of my visits to several ancient sites, where I had intense energetic experiences.
Kamyana Mohyla, Ukraine: Mother Civilization
Kamyana Mohyla (‘stone grave’) is a very ancient archaeological site in the Molochna River (‘milk river’) valley, about a mile from the village of Terpinnia, in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
The site encompasses a group of large sandstone rocks, some up to twelve meters in height, covering an area of some 3,000 square meters. Petroglyphs of Kamyana Mohyla date back to the Upper Paleolithic, with Stone Age hieroglyphs that have been studied intensely by Ukrainian archeologist, Yuri Shilov.
Dr. Shilov shares his research in his book, Ancient History of Aratta-Ukraine (20,000 BCE – 1,000 BCE).
Shilov traces the development of the Aratta civilization originating in the northern Black Sea Land of Aratta beginning around 20,000 BCE. It progressed from being a well-organized society to one whose subsequent wisdom-keepers would, by 12,000 BCE, have recorded their chronicles in sanctuary grottoes in a “Stone Library” found at the ancient ‘Kamyana Mohyla.
This library which is virtually unknown in the Western world, contains a written agreement dated c. 6,200 BCE. This Herstoric stone recorded an appeal for mutual aid between local residents and missionaries from Çatal Höyük (Anatolia, Turkey).
This stone “document” validates the Aratta civilization as the as the world’s first known state and as “mother” of the later “Indo-European” community of tribes and languages, including Sumer and Mesopotamia. Dr. Shilov describes how tendrils of Aratta’s civilization advanced into Asia Minor, India, Mesopotamia, Egypt and indeed, across Europe.
I was able to interview Dr. Shilov through an interpreter after I had visited the site. It was an amazing experience, as he had spent so much of his professional career probing into them mysteries of this place that he understood to be the “mother” of our current civilizations.
Here I am with my Ukrainian women friends: Inna, Larissa, and Polina, on our pilgrimage. This is the first image in a slide show – click the arrows on the L and R side of this photo to see photos of our visit to this ancient sacred site in Ukraine.
I was aware of feeling different from my friends as we approached the site. Without speaking, they all began gathering flowers and plants as offerings, and I followed their lead like the novice I was. One of them removed her shoes to walk barefoot.
I follow focused on listening inside me for guidance, and felt a very strong urge to go to the stones and connect with them. I walked around until I found “the spot,” layed my whole body on the stones, and went into a deep meditation for more than an hour. I felt like I entered into them, and came out with them in my bones.
Khortitsa Island, Mother Culture in Ukraine
Khortytsia Island, near Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, has been continuously inhabited during the last five millennia. Other islands in the immediate vicinity also contain indications of intensive occupation during the Proto-Indo-European and Scythian eras.
The “Scythian camp” is a collection of stone baba (grandmothers) statues believed to be remnants of the early Bronze Age Kemi Oba culture of the Crimea and the adjacent steppe region. They date back to the 4th millennium BC. are associated with the cult of the feminine ancestors. They range in height from 1 to 4 meters and date They are associated with t. There are about 300 stone baba’s in Ukraine, most of them are made of very crude stone slabs with a protruding head and eyes and breasts carved into the stone.
Locals believe that this place is a kind of energy source. Many people who visited this place claimed that they began to feel much better after their, and some said they were cured of their diseases.
My experience of the stones was similar to that of the local people. They felt like they had been charged with energy, and were full of stories my friends and I didn’t have time to sit and hear. Some of the photos we took had light orbs, plasma streams, and other kinds of light forms. I felt a bit dizzy after spending a few hours there, like I was in an altered state. Mostly the feeling was that the stones were “alive.”
Sacred Place of Fire, Ukraine
This sacred site in West Ukraine was the home of some of the first people who came to this area Ukraine. They lived under this rock for many years before building a a permanent community and a church. Many Ukrainians visit this place and light candles to commemorate its place where Her-story became part of His-tory.
other sacred sites
Here is a slide show of other REMEMBERING sites I have visited, all with massive stone structures. I didn’t realize how much stones have been part of my awakening journey. In hindsight, I think they gave me a “primordial” connection with myself . . . connecting my soul memory to Earth’s most ancient energy. This seems like the opposite pole of spirituality, reaching into the Heart of Earth (Heart|H) as opposed to reaching into the Divine Cosmos.
